Australia: late June to October Australia’s snowy mountain ranges are home to five world-class alpine resorts – Thredbo, Perisher Blue, Mt Buller, Hotham and Falls Creek.  New Zealand: late June to October Soaring peaks, sparkling snowfields, rugged forests, turquoise lakes and sweeping planes. The scenery is spellbinding: flying into New Zealand and driving to and from the sky-piercing mountains takes you into a livine postcard. New Zealand mountaisn offer some of the most exciting skiing and snowboarding in the world. Queenstown, Wanaka. MacKenzie/ Mt Cook Region, Mount Potts, Mt Ruapehu, and Methvan all cater for all budgets and skiing preferences. Excellent lifts and pistas, great alpine village life and regular falls of dry powder make New Zealand a must destination for families and extreme skiing fanatics alike.
Japan: January to February (extended season is December to March) Japan is a country steeped in history and mysticism of the orient, offering not olny world class skiing but also atreasure trove of natural beauty and individual charm. Japan's mountains have been endowed with some of the finest skiing facilities in the world. From central Hokkaio right down to through Honshu and Hakuba, the ski areas are equipped with state of the art facilities. Hosting three of the biggest skiing event of the last decade Japan has now become a global skiing mecca nevertheless preserving the timeless culture and villgae life of the past. However, for those with a passion for dry powder Japan is the place to be, as the mountains recieve 11.5 meters of snow each season from the Siberian desert storm system.
Canada: December to April In Canada, winter is playtime! The high mountaisn of the Canadian Rockies ensures unlimited and varied ski runs, heaps of space and climatic conditions (although which can be cold) produce excellent snow.Whistler Blackcombe is the largest ski resort in North America, Silver Star is a true fairy-tale village that at night becomes a Christmas postcard that comes to life, Big White and Sun Peaks are both modern alpine villages that offer any traveller the ultimate skiing experience. Other attractions in Canada, aside the skiing, are the proliferation of hot springs, snowmobiling, legendary heliskiing and sleigh rides (just to name a few!).
USA: November to June Every type of skiing resort experience is available to you in the US, from the Wild West town of Jackson Hole, to the built up big city gambling atmosphere of the Lake Tahoe region in California to the purpose built pedestrian mall villages os such resorts as Vail and Keystone. Visit Utah, home of the 2002 Winetr Olympics, where the fabulous mountain range is surrounded by a desert. Expect a high level of service and politness! In the Us resorts you will always be able to find conviniences such as trail maps, and almost all have tissue boxes in the lift lines. Grooming is taken very seriously in the US as the majority of skiers are intermediate and who love to travel there for family holidays.
